Lost Season 5

Season 5 will begin airing in January or February of 2009.

Finale Recap

At the end of Season 4 of Lost, a helicopter is bringing people from the island to the ship, when a bomb explodes, supposedly killing Jin and Michael. However, just before the bomb went off, Jack's dad appeared to Michael telling him that he could go.
Ben moves the island, and he can never again return there, leaving John Locke in charge.
When the island disappears, the helicopter crashes in the ocean. It was carrying the Oceanic 6 (Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and baby Aaron), Desmond and the helicopter pilot. (Originally Sawyer was on the helicopter, but he jumped out and swam to the island because they were running out of fuel.) They are rescued by Penny's boat, so she and Desmond are reunited. Jack convinces them to say that the others on the plane died in the crash in order to protect them from the people who are trying to find the island and kill them.
We see Sun in the future, talking with Mr. Whitmore, because she wants to help him find the island.
Jack is shown in the future and we finally see who died from the previous Season finale: John Locke. Apparently he had come to see Jack and told him that terrible things had happened on the island and that they had to go back. Ben tells Jack that he and the other 5 must return to the island, and says he will help Jack convince them to return.

Lost Oceanic 6 Survivor: Aaron Littleton (Claire's son)

Before the Crash:
Aaron is conceived off the island by Claire Littleton and her ex-boyfriend, Thomas. Thomas originally wanted Claire to keep the baby and for them to raise the baby together, but he left her a few months before the birth. Claire contemplated adoption but changed her mind after visiting a psychic, Richard Malkin. He told Claire that she must raise the baby herself. He says that if anyone else raises this child, the child will be surrounded by danger. However, he foresaw the crash and told Claire that there was a couple in Los Angeles who should adopt the baby, knowing she would board Oceanic Flight 815 and crash, forcing her to raise the baby herself.

On the Island:
The Others captured Claire while she was pregnant, presumably because they wanted her baby. However, she escaped and they could not take Aaron. Aaron is later born on the island and baptized by Mr. Eko. (Aaron is also the nephew of Jack, who is Claire's half-brother.) Aaron has been played by over 50 different babies.

The Future:
Aaron will get off the island on Lost. At this point, we do not know where Claire will be or why, only that she will not be with him. Kate, however, will call herself Aaron's mother and will say he is her son. He will be cared for by a nanny while she is on trial. Later on, Jack will move in with Kate and Aaron and become engaged to Kate. We can only speculate that Aaron will be in danger, if what the psychic said is true.

Lost Oceanic 6 Survior:Hurley (Hugo Reyes)

Before the Crash On Lost:
Hurley is from Los Angeles. As a child, his father left and Hurley blamed himself. He found comfort in food and gained a great deal of weight.
As an adult, Hurley walked onto a deck that was currently holding 23 people, but designed to hold only 8. When he stepped onto the deck, it collapsed and killed 2 people. Hurley blamed himself and was eventually put into a mental institution by his mother, hoping to help his depression. (Locke's mother was previously treated at this institution, and Libby was also a patient while Hurley was there.) There was a patient there named Leonard who repeated the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. Hurley was also befriended by Dave, another patient who turned out to be imaginary. Upon learning that he was imaginary, Hurley began to recover and was released.
Hurley continued working at fast food restaurant after his release. He also used the numbers the patient Leonard had been repeating to play the lottery, and he won $114 million dollars. However, according to Hurley, these numbers were cursed and brought him bad luck. His grandfather died, a house he bought for his mother was burned to the ground, he was arrested because he was mistakenly believed to be a drug dealer, the fast food restaurant he worked at was hit by a meteorite, and a reporter at the scene was killed. Hurley's father also returned home after he won the lottery, and only criticized Hurley's weight.
Hurley returned to the mental institution and learned that the numbers were from Australia. In Australia, Hurley visited the wife of another man from the institution, Sam Tooney, who had also heard Leonard mumbling the numbers. Sam committed suicide to escape the bad luck he believed the numbers had brought him.
Hurley then crashed on the island, believing his bad luck crashed the plane.

On the Island:
Hurley is given the job of rationing the food from the plane, as well as the food left by the Dharma Initiative. He also creates a census and is the one who discovers that Ethan was not on the plane. The numbers on the side of the first hatch found are the same numbers that Hurley believes are cursed, and he tries to prevent the hatch from being opened. Hurley is also haunted by Dave for a time, the imaginary patient from the mental institution. Libby and Hurley also bond when she arrives at their camp, however, it ends with Libby's death.
Shortly after, Hurley is convinced by Michael to help him look for his son Walt, but then betrayed by him. Kate, Sawyer and Jack are taken by the Others, and Hurley is directed to return to the camp with a message forbidding anyone to ever visit the Others again.
When the Others attack the camp, Hurley saves the day by driving the van from the Dharma Initiative and runs the Others over. He also mistakenly discovers Jacob's cabin after getting separated from the group when they are hiking up the mountain.

The Future On Lost:
Hurley will leave the island and arrive in Korea after Sun gives birth. Together they will visit Jin's grave. He will later be arrested after fleeing a convenience store and leading the police on a high speed chase. He will see Charlie drowning at the police station he will be taken to, and the words "They need you," written on his hand (Charlie drowned on the island). Hurley will agree to go back to a mental instution after his crime, but will be greatly upset by the visit of Abaddon, a man claiming to be an Oceanic 6 attorney, offering him a much nicer mental institution to stay in. However, Hurley will not believe him and the man will disappear while Hurley will seek help.
He will then return to the institution he previously stayed in and he will begin to see Charlie. Jack will later visit him, and Hurley will accuse Jack that he is going to tell, however what he is going to tell is not stated. Hurley will tell Jack that the island wants them back, and that they have to return. Jack will disagree with Hurley.
